Matthew J. Jansen is president of Archer Daniels Midland Company’s Oilseeds business unit, which includes the company’s global cocoa operations, and an officer of the corporation. He also serves on the ADM’s Global Operating Committee and as chairman of its Sustainability Committee.
Jansen joined ADM in 1989 and has held various management positions in the United States, Europe and Brazil, including president of ADM South American operations in São Paulo, Brazil, and president of the ADM Grain Group. He has also served as vice president, Risk Management, Ethanol Trading and Sales. He was named a vice president of the company in 1999, and a senior vice president in 2010.
Jansen is a member of ADM’s Performance Management Team and the ADM Cares Strong Roots Committee. He currently serves as vice chairman of the Commodity Markets Council, a representative on the Commodity Futures Trading Commission’s Subcommittee on Convergence in Agricultural Commodity Markets, as a member of the board of Stratas Foods, and as a member of the board of the Illinois Agricultural Leadership Foundation.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in agricultural economics from the University of Arkansas.
